Highway 95
I was driving to Boise on Highway 95 when something caught my eye. I didn't quite realize what it was until I actually pulled over and looked at it. A small waterfall had created a buildup of ice on a small shrub at its base, creating a rather striking ice sculpture.
Fortunately, there was a pullout nearby, so it wasn't even a long walk to get there.

Sunset on I-80
I was driving on I-80 through Wyoming, enjoying an audiobook. Lee Child's The Enemy. My logbook reminded me that I needed to take a break, so I looked for a place to pull over. It's the sort of thing you need to plan ahead for when driving a horizontal building weighing roughly 80,000 pounds, since those sort of things take a certain amount of room.
I found a rest area that was more of a widened section of road than anything. But it was large enough to park for a half hour, and that was all I needed. As it turned out, it was a good place. The sun was setting and clouds were dramatizing the event.
As far as half-hour breaks go, I liked this one.
